As our primary philanthropic endeavor, the chapter awards scholarships to qualified Penn State students from the Greater Chicago Chapter area. The chapter’s board of directors determines each year the amount of funds available for awarding scholarships. The scholarship committee, comprised of local Penn State alumni, evaluates applicants and recommends scholarship award winners and amounts to the board. The chapter typically awards two or three scholarships each year, totaling between $7,000 to $10,000 annually.

In addition, in response to a challenge from our national alumni association, the Chapter is in the midst of a multi-year campaign to increase the chapter scholarship endowment by at least $20,000 by the end of fiscal year 2014.  We are over 50% to that goal and hope to meet this challenge.  Any help would be appreciated.
