Give Back to the Community

The Community Services Committee is an extension of one of Penn State's ongoing missions of public service. If you are interested in volunteering or have suggestions for additional partnerships, please contact our Service Chair at
In addition to supporting THON and Penn State service initiatives, our local partnerships include:
  • Chicago Children's Advocacy Center
The CCAC works to eliminate the suffering of abused children in Chicago. Each year, PSU Chicago participates in CCAC's Kids' Holiday Party . Over 300 caregivers and children attend to enjoy a day of games, crafts, and lunch. Caregivers have the opportunity to shop, free of charge, for gifts for the children.

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities - Chicagoland

The Ronald McDonald House Charities help keep families together with their hospitalized children by providing housing at the Ronald McDonald Houses close to the hospitals. Penn State Chicago volunteers with RMHC by hosting game nights and participating in Cookies from the Heart.

  • Greater Chicago Food Depository
The GCFD is a nonprofit food distribution center that provides food for people in need while striving to end hunger in the community.
