On July 28, 1870, nine years after the first students graduated, the Penn State Alumni Association began with 12 Penn Staters in a chemistry room on the first floor of Old Main. The Penn State Alumni Association—a powerful network of 161,234 members—is the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world. Its mission is to connect alumni to the University and to each other, to provide valued services to members, and to support the University’s mission of teaching, research, and service.

Membership in the Penn State Alumni Association is all about pride—pride in Penn State and pride in being affiliated with the best alumni association in the country. Alumni, students, parents, family, and friends are welcome to join the Penn State Alumni Association. Benefits include subscriptions to The Penn Stater Magazine, AlumnInsider, and The Football Letter; access to the online alumni directory; use of the Penn State travel program; full use of alumni career services; special discounts; and much more.

Join today as a new member or renew your membership. An individual membership is $50 a year. Joint membership (available to two people who reside at the same address) is only $60. Life membership is $600 (or $30/month for 20 months) for individuals, $750 (or $30/month for 25 months) for joint, or only $300 (or $15/month for 20 months) for alumni 60 and over.

If you decide to become a life member, the Alumni Association will make a donation of $50 to our Chicago Chapter.
