Annual Scholarship Fundraiser

scholarship2019
 Date: Saturday, August 10th
Location: Smoke Daddy near Wrigley Field (3630 N Clark St.)
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Join us on the evening of Saturday, August 10th, for our annual fundraiser at the Smoke Daddy BBQ at Hotel Zachary, located on the corner of Clark and Addison near Wrigley Field.

Our event will feature guest speaker Matt Suhey, a former Penn State Nittany Lion who played throughout his Penn State career and as a fullback for ten seasons in the NFL for the Chicago Bears. His team-first attitude won him a Super Bowl as a member of the 1985 Chicago Bears and he is considered one of our most successful Chicagoland Penn State alumni! (Read more about Matt Suhey here!)

Addtionally, the event will include a silent auction, fun raffles, and a great food/drink selection! We are excited to be hosting another amazing evening to benefit Penn State students! All event proceeds benefit the Penn State Chicago Scholarship Fund.

Goal of the Penn State Chicago Scholarship Program

The goal of this scholarship program is to provide financial support to Penn State students from the greater Chicago area, including World Campus, who have demonstrated academic excellence. Last year, Penn State Chicago awarded four scholarships to Penn State students from the Chicago area!

The Greater Chicago Chapter views our students as catalysts for change.  We hope that with these scholarships, our alumni network will continue to grow and support the recognition of educational attainment and the positive educational outcome, regardless of economic circumstance. Last year, the Greater Chicago Chapter raised a total of $11,000 for scholarships.  Let's see if we can beat that this year and support our students!
